Two plastic molds for making big and small onigiri rice balls.
Onigiri are parcels of rice with different fillings. They are wrapped in nori seaweed and usually eaten with your hand. Basically the Japanese version of a sandwich!
To use
1.Rinse with water before use as this helps prevent rice from sticking.
Add warm rice into the mold to just below the half-way mark.
2.Place a small amount of your favourite filling into the center of the rice
3.Add additional rice to fill the mold, but do not 'pack' the mold as you're filling it.
4.Use the lid of the mold and press down onto the rice. If there is too much give, you may not have used enough rice, so add some more. If you can't press the lid down all the way, then you've used too much!
5. Remove the lid, invert the mold, and press down on the center 'button' to help the rice ball pop out.
You can now wrap the rice ball with seaweed.
This is done in different ways. Sometimes completely covering rice with sqaures of seaweed or just wrapping the edge in a strip of nori.
