S&B : Sansho Pepper (Sansho no ko).
This is not black or white pepper but rather the dried berry of a type of prickly Ash tree.

Similar to Chinese Szechuan pepper. Aromatic and not hot, sansho pepper powder has a tangy flavour and can be used to season almost any Japanese dish. Good with grilled meat and fish.

Sometimes labelled sansyo.
