Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning "what you like" or "what you want", and yaki meaning "grilled" or "cooked"
Okonomiyaki is sometimes compared to an omelette, pizza or pancake.
Cooked okonomiyaki is topped with ingredients that include okonomiyaki sauce, aonori (seaweed flakes), katsuobushi (fish flakes), Japanese mayonnaise and pickled ginger (beni shoga).
Cooking Directions
To make Okonomiyaki you will need:
2 eggs, 260ml of water, 1/4 of Cabbage, Vegetable Oil
1. Mix together 1 packet of Okonomiyaki mix & 260ml of water.
2. Add 2 eggs & chopped cabbage. Mix together.
3. Pour oil in frying pan & heat up. Pour the mix into pan & cook for 5 mins.
(You can add your favourite topping on Okonomiyaki (prawns, ham, eggs, mushrooms etc...) Turn over & cook for a further 5 mins.
4. Turn over again, cook for one more minute.
5 . You can use the seaweed sachet as a final topping! Now ready to eat with Okonomiyaki-sauce and mayonnaise.
